What is the active ingredient in BroccoMax?

It is broccoli seed extract supplying sulforaphane glucosinolate (also called glucoraphanin), plus the enzyme myrosinase that converts it into sulforaphane in the intestine.

Why is the capsule delayed-release?

The myrosinase enzyme is sensitive to stomach acid. A delayed-release capsule is intended to carry it past the stomach so the conversion to sulforaphane can happen in the intestine.

Is it suitable for vegans?

Yes. Jarrow lists BroccoMax as vegan and gluten-free, in a vegetarian capsule.

What does the IGEN certification cover?

IGEN is a non-GMO testing programme — it verifies the ingredients are sourced free of genetically modified material. It is not a banned-substance or purity test.
